Barcodes
Barcodes allow you to encode data into machine-readable visual formats inside your document.
Eledo supports both:
- 1D Barcodes (linear)
- 2D Barcodes (matrix)
Each type is available from a separate dropdown in the editor toolbar.
Where to find Barcodes
Barcodes are grouped into two toolbar menus:
- 1D Barcodes — linear barcode formats
- 2D Barcodes — matrix and advanced formats

Types of Barcodes
1D Barcodes
Traditional linear barcodes used for:
- product codes
- inventory systems
- identification numbers
Examples include:
- EAN-8
- EAN-13
- Code 39
- Code 93

2D Barcodes
Matrix-based barcodes that can store more data.
Used for:
- URLs
- payments
- structured data
Examples include:
- QR Code
- Data Matrix
- PDF417
- Aztec

How it works
- You select a barcode type from the toolbar
- Configure its data (expression)
- The barcode is generated during document creation
When to use Barcodes
Use Barcodes when you need:
- machine-readable data
- scannable identifiers
- integration with external systems (POS, payments, logistics)
